Books to Prisons
There is currently more than 2 million people incarcerated in state and federal prisons in the USA. Prisoners need books to help pass the time and try to educate themselves. At many prisons there are very few books available to the prison population, and often what is there is poor quality pulp fiction like romance novels and action thrillers.
Prison libraries are often very limited, and access to them is often highly restricted, so sending books to incarcerated family members and friends is often necessary and the only way for prisoners to access reading material.
As you probably could imagine, most prisoners have very little to look forward to but the passing of time. Mail is often the biggest part of the day. Most prisons have very strict rules regarding mail and parcels received by the prisoners. But most prisons will allow soft cover books and non-spiraled magazines to be sent if directly from the publisher, including magazine subscriptions.

Send Books to Prison
Under no circumstances should you ever try and send any sort of parcel or books yourself to the prison. No county jail, prison or federal penitentiary will let you send parcels to an inmate.
All books must be shipped from a leading book provider. We highly recommend Amazon because they have a great reputation and their packages are most likely to be accepted by the prison staff.
Don’t try and save money sending used books to an inmate as they will not be accepted. It has to be new books only.
